A limited number of rooms are being held at a preferential rate at Gage Suites on the UBC Campus. Each suite has its own kitchen and ensuite bathroom, and the accommodation is a 5-min walk to the conference venue, Allard Hall

Other accommodation is available both on and off campus. You may want to check booking sites, Air BnB, etc. Please book early as prices in Vancouver can get very high in the summertime.

Travel

Many visitors to Canada, including visitors from the United Kingdom and Europe, will require a visitor visa or an ETA. Please check the Government of Canada website for requirements and processing of visitor visas and ETAs.

The UBC Campus is approximately 12 km from Waterfront station downtown, depending on the time of day this can be between a 20 to 40 minute drive. Public Transportation to and from downtown is easily accessible from the campus. 

The UBC Campus is approximately 20 km from the Vancouver International Airport (YVR), depending on the time of day this can be between a 30 to 50 minute drive. Taxis cost approximately $35 from the airport to the campus. Transit is also available – again check translink.ca for information, times, and costs.

Additional Information

A reminder, July 1 is a national holiday, Canada Day. If you are planning to arrive on this day, be prepared for holiday hours and schedules. If you want to celebrate like a local, head to Canada Place or Granville Island to take part in the festivities.
